Rydeen Mobile has a new contribution to the tablet computer market: the Android-based “gPad.” Yes, that’s the real name.

Also known by the code name “GCOM701,” the gPad is powered by a Marvel Armada 166 800MHz processor. Unfortunately, there’s no mention of which version of Android this tablet will be running on, leaving some room for worry.

Nevertheless, let’s take a closer look at what we do know about this Rydeen MID:

  • 7-inch TFT touchscreen (800 Ã 480 resolution)
  • 2GB of DDR2 memory
  • 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi
  • GPS
  • Bluetooth
  • Built-in front-facing camera
  • microSD slot (SDHC cards up to 32GB)
  • Connectivity: USB, mini-USB, 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Battery life: Up to eight hours with normal use; Up to six hours at “full power” mode

There’s also support for a number of different multimedia formats for video and audio playback, along with compatibility with Adobe Flash Lite 4.

No word on pricing yet, but it is earmarked for a November shipment with a choice between a white or black exterior.
